At Temple, our goal is to make it financially possible for every qualified applicant to enroll, so we may continue to build the talented and diverse student community for which we are known. Financial aid opportunities can help you finance your education at Temple. 

  • We award more than $100 million in scholarships each year.
  • 70% of eligible first year students receive need-based aid. 
  • In recent years, more than half of our students were offered merit-based scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to full tuition.

*In addition to the costs and fees above, students should expect meal and travel expenses estimated in the cost sheet below. 

**International students and U.S. citizens residing outside of the United States will see a tuition charge of $16,956 per semester on their Temple bill, along with an automatically assessed TREY scholarship, so that the effective tuition due for the semester will be $9,432.

    Temple Rome Global Citizen Scholarship

    Full tuition for first year at Temple Rome

    This merit-based scholarship is open to all students, regardless of nationality, who are residing outside of the United States. Students are automatically considered and will be notified if they receive this scholarship by email.

    Temple Rome Merit Scholarships

    $500 to $10,000 for first year at Temple Rome

    All first-year students who complete their application by February 1 are automatically considered for merit scholarships. A separate application is not required.

    Eligibility can include a student’s academic and/or extra-curricular accomplishments. In most cases, a student’s financial need will not determine a student's eligibility for a merit scholarship.

    Students are notified of merit scholarships in late spring. Most merit scholarships at Temple require a minimum GPA to be maintained as a full-time student.

    Temple Rome Bridge Scholarship

    $500 to $3,000 to go towards housing for first year at Temple Rome

    Available to Rome applicants of any nationality, this merit-based scholarship goes towards the cost of university-facilitated housing in Rome. Students must fill out a separate application to be considered for this award.

    Anticipated Costs for Years 2-4

    After completing the Temple Rome Entry Year Program, students will pay the costs associated with their campus track (Philadelphia* or Japan**). There are various types of scholarships and financial aid offered at both campuses. Explore costs, aid, and scholarships for each campus below. 

    *To be eligible for Main Campus scholarships, students applying to the Philadelphia track must submit any scholarship applications during their application cycle. Students are notified of scholarship awards in winter/early spring, depending on when they apply. Any merit-based scholarships are disbursed once enrolled at Main Campus. 

    **Japan track students can start to apply for scholarships at Temple Japan during their first year in Rome. Scholarships are awarded and disbursed once enrolled at Temple Japan.
